About Us

The Grassroots Skaters’ Foundation is a non-profit organization that was formed to support the adult figure skating community in Alberta. We encourage and promote adults to get (and stay) involved in figure skating. With an age range of 18 – 83 years old, adult skaters jump, spin, ice dance and compete.  They continually prove that age is a state of mind and are role models to young people everywhere as can be seen in a feature (see below) made about our group by Global Calgary.

News Hour Calgary – Gil Tucker: Skater Spirit

With increasing ice costs, coaching, and competition fees, skating is becoming less accessible.  The Grassroots Skaters’ Foundation raises funds and awareness for adult skating in Alberta.
